For BC Hydro, February 2013 – ongoing

Assessing implementation readiness for a key worker safety initiative from a training, communication and governance perspective.
Developing instructional design materials in support of a major systems transformation project.

For Global Medical Services, June 2012 to November 2012

Completed an audit of Global Medical Services courses and educational offering. The work resulted in a detailed report on enhancements, marketing strategy, instructional design and delivery improvements to facilitate future corporate growth.

For FortisBC (formerly Terasen Gas), November 2010 to March 2012

Developed the training strategy and plan, and led the implementation of job specific training for over 400 new Contact Centre staff in two BC locations.

Conducted training needs assessment in conjunction with the hiring strategy, facilities and new systems build
Hired, trained and led the team of learning and knowledge facilitators
Managed the learning and knowledge team in the development of all materials to support an eight week job specific training program
Developed and implemented a Train the Trainer program
Managed the delivery of classroom training (8 concurrent classes in 2 locations for 2 iterations)
Developed a transition plan from project state to stabilization state

For WorkSafeBC (Workers Compensation Board), Assignments between 2002 and 2010

Led a project team to assess learner needs, develop, learner materials and deliver training for the ‘read-only, non-core’ audience groups at WorkSafeBC in support of the implementation of the new Claims Management System (implementation May 2009). Learner materials included: participant and instructor guides, Quick Reference Guides (QRG) job aides and train the trainer workshops

Developed multiple courses including:
One-day – Project Management Approach to Case Management Workshop for Regional Managers and Directors
Two-day workshop – Elements of Learner-Centered Instruction

This workshop assists participants to ‘notch-up’ their presentation/training style to become a leader that moves ‘beyond using power-point’ to deliver training or presentations that engage and involve the participants. The workshop is being delivered to WorkSafeBC staff. Initial workshops were extremely successful and there is currently a waitlist for future deliveries.

For Business Objects, May 2005 to Sept 2007

Provided project management and instructional design expertise for a number of key business initiatives at Business Objects.
Developed communication materials in support of the role out of the Partner Education Program
Provided planning, project management and instructional design expertise for a number of projects within the Sales Effectiveness team
Managed the Sales Learning Plan project; this included:
Development of profiles for all sales roles, validating learning objectives; mapping existing content and learning activities to learning objectives; identifying gaps and recommending development of additional learning; working with technical resources to move validated learning plans into the Learning Management System (LMS)
Developed an instructional design model and supporting templates for use by the Sales Effectiveness team
Evaluated existing Sales Effectiveness courses and programs and made recommendations for quality improvement and alignment to adult education best practices.

For Petro Canada, Nov 2006 to March 2007

Developed and delivered, a one-day instructor-lead Project Management workshop,
Developed student guide, facilitators guide and supporting materials
Delivered a train the trainer session
Delivered the workshop training to functional groups across Canada.

For Coast Capital Savings, Oct to Dec 2008

Developed and delivered a 2 day Coaching Conversations Workshop for Coast Capital Savings. This workshop was developed to support the culture of Coast Capital Savings and will be delivered to all leaders (managers) within the organization.
Conducted extensive needs and target audience analysis
Developed content and exercises to support the learning
Developed student guide, facilitators guide and supporting materials
Delivered the 2 day workshop to a pilot audience
Analyzed pilot feedback and made implementation recommendations.

For ICBC, Roadside-Plus Project, January 2001 to July 2001

Managed the development, and implementation of Technical, Product and Sales Training to multiple learner audiences (over 4,000 people) to support the release of a new insurance product. Learner groups included internal ICBC executive management and staff and Business Partners (Autoplan Brokers)
Developed the Education Strategy, training project plan and budget, conducted training needs analysis, produced and supervised the production of training material, train the trainer, and project evaluation
Developed and delivered Train the Trainer workshop

The project was extremely successful, and was implemented on time and under budget. The product is currently selling above market projections.
